Chip on your Shoulder Quote

If you’ve got a chip on your shoulder then there must be a block a little higher up. T.F. Tenney

I'll Pass On The Salt, Please

Image
There are times in my life that I read and see parts of the stories in the bible in a humorous way not mocking by any means. I fear God to much to do that! The story I’m about to talk about is found in Genesis 19. Lot ended up with one salty wife, probably couldn’t peck her for fear of losing his lips. Lots wife turned into a pillar of salt for her disobedience but Matthew 5:13 states that, “Ye are the salt of the earth”. Why she didn’t turn into a pillar of sugar??? Brown sugar??? Her husband might have had to resort to one last salty/bitter peck of his disobedient wife. Matthew also states but, “if the salt have lost his savour we are good for nothing”…I guess Mrs. Lot lost her savour and became one bitter pillar. God ways are so beyond us; we can’t comprehend the reasoning of the pillar of salt.   On a more serious note, I personally think her disobedience stemmed from Lot. As the angels entered the city and later Lots house, they kept insisting that he and his fami...

The Power of Prayer

No ocean can hold it back. No river can overtake it. No whirlwind can go faster. No army can defeat it. No law can stop it. No distance can slow it. No disease can cripple it. No force on earth is more powerful or effective than the power of prayer. - Linn Carlson, DaySpring writer James 5:16b KJV   The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much .

Chronicles of the Kings

Been reading the Chronicles of the Kings (of the Judah tribe) book series and found some interesting quotes that I wanted to share: Suddenly God drew near... The breeze was His breath, the silence His voice, the stars the light of His wisdom.                                   Song of Redemption Lynn Austin “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”   Song of Redemption     Lynn Austin

The Righteous not Forsaken

To God be the Glory… Being a single mother, making ends meet on one income with no assistance from family or anyone. I went through all measures to provide for my sons. So there was a time when all I could afford was food boxes from food banks which half of the food was spoiled or there was no meat included. So being the frugal mom and with my knack of being able to throw many meals together with no meat in them I was able to pull it off for two whole months. But the day came when one of the sons says to me, “Mom can we get some meat in our food we haven’t had any in a long while”. I had no money for meat so I said to self you need to go to prayer and ask God. That Saturday evening we had prayer at church, I went to my knees and with desperation I asked God for meat for our meals, I had no money or possible way of getting any. When I got up from prayer that evening a Sister approached me and ask me if I had any plans and I told her no; she asked me to follow her to her home a...

Promotion & Trials

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy Voice

Don't know what has come over me but in the last two weeks I have sung this old hymn over and over again, I just weep and weep in the presence of the Lord. I truly draw closer to Him. Just as it says I commune as friend with friend...so deep it breaks me. I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,   And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith,   And be closer drawn to Thee.     Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,   To the cross where Thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,     To Thy precious, bleeding side.     Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,   By the pow’r of grace divine;   Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,   And my will be lost in Thine.     O the pure delight of a single hour   That before Thy throne I spend, When I kneel in prayer, ...

Meekness

Paul

Paul said in the early part of his ministry that he was the least of the Apostles. Later he said I am the least of the saints. In the later part of his life he called himself the chiefest of sinners. T.F. Tenney

Man, Spirit, Doctrine

I will be posting some interesting quotes from T.F.Tenney daily, stop by and read them! I would rather deal with a man with wrong doctrine and the right spirit than a man with right doctrine and the wrong spirit. If a man has a right spirit we can get his doctrine right. John said, "Try the spirits ... " T.F. Tenney

My Beseeching & Thankful Attitude towards God

Since I first came to truth I have always had the attitude of a beseeching leper…when I approach God I believe the beseeching attitude is necessary… a must. BUT a must also with a beseeching leper attitude is going back to thank God for hearing our request and prayers. I make the comparison of myself with a leper because leprosy in Mosaic Law was seen as sin; I was coming out of sin.   I looked up the words beseeching … imploring, begging, supplicatory, earnest, persuasive were several of the words I found to equal. Thankful … pleased, relieved and expressing gratitude, relief. Definition for attitude : the way you think and feel about someone or something: a feeling or way of thinking that affects a person's behavior: a way of thinking and behaving that people regard as unfriendly, rude The beseeching leper in Mark 1:40-45 cried out for his healing and Jesus did heal him but never returned to thank Jesus. The ten men that were lepers in Luke 17:11-19 lifted up...
