Somethings just can't be Forced

My sons were probably the ages of 8 and 13 years old when video games just captivated them and I was worried cause they were reading there bible less and less. A struggle we (Apostolics) are now faced with spending hours on computers playing games and now social media chat rooms is alarming. Thank God our Pastor has always taken a stance against all those things maybe not everyone heeds to his warning but my family and I did at this time. I admonished my sons that they had already spent an hour playing video games on the computer but my appeal fell on silent ears. I have never forced my sons to do anything, I wasn’t about to begin so I went to my room and got on my knees. I began to cry out to God that he would convict my sons of their time on the computer and put a lack of interest in them for the games. I don’t know how long I had been on my knees but a spirit of travail came over me and I lost track of time. When the spirit lifted I went to check on my sons, first I noticed...

Canvas of my Life

Not sure where I found or copied these words in my past but if you recognize it just holler(as we say back home) so I give credit where it's due. Was cleaning my computer out, transferring everything to my flash drive. 'Let your words be the canvas and the material be the border to the picture you are painting in their mind'. I heard an old song that rings similar to your phrase he(Lord) painted a new picture on the canvas of my life.

I'll Pass On The Salt, Please

Image
There are times in my life that I read and see parts of the stories in the bible in a humorous way not mocking by any means. I fear God to much to do that! The story I’m about to talk about is found in Genesis 19. Lot ended up with one salty wife, probably couldn’t peck her for fear of losing his lips. Lots wife turned into a pillar of salt for her disobedience but Matthew 5:13 states that, “Ye are the salt of the earth”. Why she didn’t turn into a pillar of sugar??? Brown sugar??? Her husband might have had to resort to one last salty/bitter peck of his disobedient wife. Matthew also states but, “if the salt have lost his savour we are good for nothing”…I guess Mrs. Lot lost her savour and became one bitter pillar. God ways are so beyond us; we can’t comprehend the reasoning of the pillar of salt.   On a more serious note, I personally think her disobedience stemmed from Lot. As the angels entered the city and later Lots house, they kept insisting that he and his fami...

The Power of Prayer

No ocean can hold it back. No river can overtake it. No whirlwind can go faster. No army can defeat it. No law can stop it. No distance can slow it. No disease can cripple it. No force on earth is more powerful or effective than the power of prayer. - Linn Carlson, DaySpring writer James 5:16b KJV   The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much .

Chronicles of the Kings

Been reading the Chronicles of the Kings (of the Judah tribe) book series and found some interesting quotes that I wanted to share: Suddenly God drew near... The breeze was His breath, the silence His voice, the stars the light of His wisdom.                                   Song of Redemption Lynn Austin “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”   Song of Redemption     Lynn Austin

The Righteous not Forsaken

To God be the Glory… Being a single mother, making ends meet on one income with no assistance from family or anyone. I went through all measures to provide for my sons. So there was a time when all I could afford was food boxes from food banks which half of the food was spoiled or there was no meat included. So being the frugal mom and with my knack of being able to throw many meals together with no meat in them I was able to pull it off for two whole months. But the day came when one of the sons says to me, “Mom can we get some meat in our food we haven’t had any in a long while”. I had no money for meat so I said to self you need to go to prayer and ask God. That Saturday evening we had prayer at church, I went to my knees and with desperation I asked God for meat for our meals, I had no money or possible way of getting any. When I got up from prayer that evening a Sister approached me and ask me if I had any plans and I told her no; she asked me to follow her to her home a...
